The Otto IP Word Add-In includes two analysis buttons that appear in the top left corner of Word when the add-in is active: Analyze Claims and Analyze Specification.
Analyze Claims
The Analyze Claims button provides tools to review the structure and consistency of your patent claims:
Claim Tree: Creates a visual tree structure showing the relationship between independent and dependent claims.
Antecedent Basis Check: Reviews your claims or specification to identify potential antecedent basis issues, flagging terms that may lack proper introduction or reference.
Analyze Specification
The Analyze Specification button helps verify technical accuracy:
Reference Number Check: Scans your specification to check that reference numbers are used consistently throughout the document.
Accessing These Features
Look for both buttons in the top left corner of Word when you have the Otto IP Word Add-In open. Click either button to access the analysis tools.
